During July 4th-6th 2018, the academic symposium on “Soil Science and technology help to promote Rural Revitalization” supported by Nanjing Institute of Soil Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences were held successfully in Zhengzhou, Henan.
Opening ceremony was hosted by Prof. Feng Hu, Vice President of Nanjing Agricultural University. The Chairman and President of Nanjing Institute of Soil Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences Renfang Shen, Vice President of Henan Academy of Agricultural Sciences Weiping Fang and Vice President of Henan Agricultural University Jinfang Tan made the speech. Other experts and scholars from all over the country also attended this symposium.
The implementation of the rural revitalization strategy is a major decision-making made by the 19th National Congress of Communist Party of China. It is the general guidance of the "three rural issues" in the new era and the action plan for promoting the modernization of agriculture in rural areas. The symposium focused on the theme of “Soil Science and technology help to promote Rural Revitalization” and discussed on the difficulties and problems encountered in the development of modern agriculture. 22 experts and outstanding young talents made relevant theme reports, showing the research progress and latest achievements of soil science in modern agriculture. A collection of abstracts was printed before the symposium, containing 37 thesis abstracts.
The host of ending ceremony Prof. Baoguo Li pointed that China's soil science research has played a leading role in the development of international soil science, the current trend of young scientists gives us confidence in the future of soil science. I hope the researchers in soil science and technology will seize the opportunity and work diligently.
